FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- How is the payment made?
Payment can be made by cheque to CommonSense Green Cleaning Ltd. Payment is due on day of cleaning unless other arrangements have been made.
- What are the rates and is there a minimum cleaning time?
There is a minimum cleaning time of 3 hrs. The hourly rate starts from $22.00/hr. Seniors are discounted 10%. Tax is applicable (5%).
- Do you bring equipment and supplies?
Our clients provide their own supplies. This way they have control over what is being used in their home and as well they have access to products when the cleaner is not there. In keeping with the CommonSense Green Cleaning principles, we encourage our staff to travel to work by foot, bike or public transit. It would not be feasible for our staff to carry equipment when traveling in this manner.
We can provide cleaning products if a client doesn’t have any or is low on supplies. Just let us know beforehand, and we will make arrangements for delivery. There is a $25.00 charge if we provide cleaning products.
- Is there any service that you don’t provide?
For safety reasons, our staff do not climb ladders that are higher than three steps. Also, we don’t clean venetian blinds as they should only be cleaned by a venetian blind specialist. We are happy to make recommendations! We don’t clean carpets at this time. Also our staff do not clean litter boxes, animal “accidents” and training potties.
5. Is your company insured?
CommonSense Green Cleaning Ltd. is insured with the Co-operators.
6. Will I always have the same cleaner?
We make every attempt to have the same cleaner come to your home. If we need to send someone else, we inform the client first. This business has a large turnover rate. We combat this statistic by treating our staff with the greatest respect. This means that they make above average wages, are provided a benefits package, and are duly paid for their vacations, stat holidays and breaks. This should be standard in the industry; sadly it is not.
7. What happens if I need to cancel an appointment?
No problem! We do ask that you give at least 48hrs. notice so that the cleaner has time to be booked for another home. There is a fee of $40.00 if not given ample notice, or alternitely if the cleaner cannot enter the home due to a dog/no one home.
